Head of Iran’s Presidential Office to Visit Belarus in February
OREANDA-NEWS. January 19, 2010. The Head of the Presidential Office of Iran is set to pay a visit to Belarus in February, from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Belarus Seyyed Abdollah Hosseini announced.
The visit will highlight the issues of bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
According to the Ambassador, last year was very important in terms of establishing economic links between the two countries. “Last year a great work was done to change the situation with the projects that were idle. I figure it has been laid down a very good ground for further development of the contacts in the economy, culture and education,” he said.
The Ambassador believes that the developing cultural links will help the two nations to learn more about each other. For these purposes the Iranian Embassy carries out a lot of cultural events in Minsk as well as in the oblast and regional centers of Belarus. This year Belarus is expected to host the Week of the Iranian Cinema. The head of the Iranian TV and Radio Company is supposed to pay a visit to Minsk.
Seyyed Abdollah Hosseini stressed the importance of exchanging visits (there were about 80 of them in 2009). For instance, in October a delegation of the Teheran Province of Iran got familiar with the economic potential of the Minsk oblast. In autumn an Iranian delegation led by the Governor of the Mazandaran Province paid a visit to the Gomel oblast.
The Ambassador is confident that this year will be even richer in mutual visits.
