OREANDA-NEWS. December 31, 2009. The Centre for Strategic Surveys (SAM) under the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan has come forward with estimates of policy of country’s Leadership.

SAM director Elkhan Nuriyev stated that interesting processes were taking place in Azerbaijan.

By ensuring social, economic and political stability, Azerbaijan is moving from stability to modernization. Policy to all-round modernization is dictated with postulate “Modernization is right way of democratization” and aims gradual democratization of the country. At the same time choice of goal to democracy was made by Azerbaijan independently without pressure outside. Phasing and forwardness of the process are to ensure its quality,” Nuriyev said.
