OREANDA-NEWS. December 14, 2009. A telephone conversation took place on December 11 between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi at the Chinese side’s initiative.

The sides expressed satisfaction with the stable and progressive development of Russian-Chinese partner relations this year, noting movement forward in a number of areas of cooperation. The 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, which our countries celebrated in October, and the successful holding of the Russian Language Year in China, had imparted a pointedly positive tonality to bilateral interaction.

In the context of the UN Conference on Climate Change being held in Copenhagen, the ministers compared approaches to this problem and agreed to continue consultations.
