West Balkan and Central Asian Countries’ Officials Visits Ashgabat
OREANDA-NEWS. December 10, 2009. A delegation of the parliamentarians from the West Balkan and Central Asian countries visits Ashgabat aiming to develop the traditional dialogue between Turkmenistan and OSCE. The guests, who arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the forum on the Exchange of the Best Practices towards Women’s Political and Social Empowerment, represent the Parliaments of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
The agenda of the meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan focused on the ways to enhance cooperation. During the meeting the guests were briefed on the major aspects of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy strategy aimed at establishing and maintaining mutually advantageous cooperation with different countries all over the world. The discussion highlighted the possibilities of expansion of inter-parliamentary contacts. Reaffirming the invariable commitment to the constructive dialogue the sides called for intensifying it.
The guests visited the Museum of Turkmen Carpet, the Main National Museum and the Fashion House.
The parliamentarians took part in the seminar on empowerment of women, which was conducted in Turkmenbashi town. They visited the facilities in Avaza national tourism zone on the Caspian seashore.
