Azerbaijan and Russia Discussed Bilateral Relations
OREANDA-NEWS. November 24, 2009. The President expressed confidence that the important steps taken within the framework of the extensive visit of Chief of the Presidential Administration of Russian Federation, Sergey Naryshkin, would promote further development of relations between the two countries.
President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that the steps taken cover various spheres of bilateral relations, including humanitarian and economic spheres, and are important for further strengthening of relations among representatives of diverse religious groups. In relation to this, the President recalled the recent international conference held in Baku, in which Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia had also participated. Touching upon the economic cooperation issues, President Ilham Aliyev stressed the importance of the opening of one of the major banks of Russian Federation, Vneshtorgbank’s branch in Azerbaijan, and expressed confidence that it would give impetus to realization of numerous joint economic projects. The President stated that, the meetings in the agenda of Naryshkin’s visit demonstrates, once again, that Azerbaijan-Russian bilateral relations are multifaceted and develop successfully.
