OREANDA-NEWS. November 16, 2009. A meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea Yu Myung-hwan took place in Singapore on the sidelines of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit.

The heads of the foreign affairs agencies of Russia and the Republic of Korea exchanged views on a wide range of issues on the bilateral political and economic agenda in the light of the upcoming twentieth anniversary in 2010 of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. In discussing international themes the main focus was resolving the Korean Peninsula nuclear problem and ensuring security in Northeast Asia.
