Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Visits Greece
OREANDA-NEWS. November 13, 2009. Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Titov paid a visit to Athens on November 12-13. He held consultations there with Greek Alternate Foreign Minister Dimitris Droutsas to discuss topical matters in bilateral cooperation, and priority themes of the foreign policy interaction of the two countries, including European security issues and the activities of OSCE in the context of Greece’s chairmanship of this organization, Cyprus settlement problems, the situation in the Balkans, the Middle East and other issues.
In a conversation with Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Spyros Kouvelis, a co-chair of the Russian-Greek Mixed Commission on Economic, Industrial, Scientific and Technological Cooperation, prospects for bilateral interaction in the relevant fields were examined.
Vladimir Titov was also received by Greek Prime Minister and Foreign Minister George Papandreou. Both sides reiterated their interest in the progressive development of bilateral cooperation in the spirit of traditional partnership and mutual understanding inherent in Russian-Greek relations.
