President of Turkmenistan Receives Croatian Delegation
OREANDA-NEWS. November 12, 2009. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the delegation of the Republic of Croatia – President of the Istrian Region Ivan Jakovcic and Mayor of Pula Boris Miletic.
Thanking for the heartfelt welcome extended in the Turkmen land and the opportunity of a personal meeting the guests expressed sincere admiration for white-marble Ashgabat, the unique architectural look of which mirrored the ongoing fundamental reforms in the country and focused on Croatia’s great interest in establishing the full-scale dialogue with dynamically developing Turkmenistan.
Greeting the honorary guests Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that he had the warm recollections of his first official visit to Croatia this June, during which the partners had specified the ways of cooperation in such important fields as transport, communications and telecommunications, health care, agriculture, construction , the humanitarian sphere, the fuel and energy sector.
Focusing with satisfaction on the positive trends in cooperation in these key fields, the President and his guests put emphasis on tourism as a priority field, in which Croatia had accumulated the profound experience. It was noted that the project of Avaza national tourist zone initiated by the Turkmen leader and the investment policy guaranteeing the substantial benefits to foreign investors in the country opened up the vast opportunities to establish fruitful partnership between Turkmenistan and Croatia.
In conclusion of the meeting, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed the best wishes to President of the Republic of Croatia Stjepan Mesic and the people of Croatia.
