OREANDA-NEWS. October 9, 2009. The main subject on the summit’s agenda was joint action by the CIS countries to overcome the economic crisis. Other items of discussion included preparations for the 65th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, humanitarian cooperation, distance learning, cooperation in border guarding, and joint disaster relief efforts.

The summit concluded with the signing of a number of agreements.

Moldova will hand over the CIS’ rotating presidency to Russia on January 1, 2010.
