Entry into Force of Russia-Denmark Visa Facilitation Agreement
OREANDA-NEWS. September 24, 2009. The Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark on the Facilitation of the Issuance of Visas to the Citizens of Russia and Denmark, signed on May 27, 2008, enters into force on October 1.
It establishes for the citizens of Russia and Denmark the same visa rules as those set out in the similar Russia-EU Agreement of May 25, 2006, including the size of consular fees, grounds for fee exemptions, and the length of procedures for processing visa applications.
The Agreement fixes a simplified procedure for issuing visas, including multiple visas with the term of validity of up to five years, at direct requests from host organizations to the following categories of citizens: members of official delegations; business people and representatives of business organizations; drivers and members of train crews conducting international cargo and passenger transportation services; journalists; persons participating in scientific, cultural and artistic activities; pupils and students participating in exchange programs; participants in international sports events; participants in exchange programs organized by twin cities; persons visiting military and civil burial grounds; and close relatives of persons legally residing in the territories of the state parties. A regime of visa-free trips for an aggregate period not to exceed three months per half a year is introduced for holders of diplomatic passports.
