OREANDA-NEWS. July 23, 2009. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, attending the Russia-ASEAN Ministerial Meeting and the 16th ASEAN Regional Forum session (Phuket, Thailand), met the Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India, S. M. Krishna, on July 22.

Topical issues pertaining to the further development of Russian-Indian friendly relations were discussed – including the preparation of upcoming contacts at the highest level, the realization of the Year of India in Russia in 2009 events and progress in the fulfillment of the Protocol on Inter-MFA Consultations for 2009-2010.
