OREANDA-NEWS. July 23, 2009. A meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Yang Jiechi, took place on the sidelines of the Russia-ASEAN Ministerial Meeting held in Phuket, Thailand.

During the conversation, which passed in a traditional trustful atmosphere for the Russian-Chinese strategic partnership, the ministers discussed a number of topical issues pertaining to bilateral relations and the two countries’ interaction on the world stage. They also exchanged views on the Korean Peninsula nuclear problem and with regard to the situation in the Asia-Pacific Region.
