OREANDA-NEWS. July 15, 2009. Elmar Mammadyarov, the minister for foreign affairs of Azerbaijan, has visited today the Brussels-based NATO Headquarters.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs that negotiations he conducted also involved reps of the Ministries of Defence, of National Security, of Internal Affairs, Emergency Situations and the State Frontier Service.

The sides covered issues of Azerbaijan-NATO co-operation, NATO-Azerbaijan Individual Partnership Action Plan, including regional security, supply of Azeri energy resources to Europe.

During the meeting NATO appraised high IPAP realization and collaboration with Azerbaijan in Afghanistan.

“Azerbaijan has conducted IPAP consultations with NATO for the first time by realizing its second stage in 2008-10,” it was informed.
