OREANDA-NEWS. June 05, 2009. President of the Republic of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus extended congratulations to Queen Margrethe II of the Kingdom of Denmark on the occasion of Constitution Day.

Wishing the Kingdom of Denmark long years of prosperity and well-being, the President noted that since the very beginning of Lithuania‘s restored independence, Denmark has been a sincere partner of Lithuania in regional cooperation, security building and economic development.

"I am delighted that relations between Denmark and Lithuania are based on mutual trust and friendship," the President writes in his letter of congratulations.

President Adamkus expressed confidence that the two countries would continue to maintain their strong bilateral ties and would work together to create a united, secure and prosperous Baltic Sea region.

According to the President, the Queen‘s visit in Vilnius when Lithuania celebrates the millennium of the first mention of its name in written records will contribute to further cooperation between people, business communities, and politicians of Lithuania and Denmark.
