Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Turkey Held Enlarged Meeting
OREANDA-NEWS. May 14, 2009. Following a one-on-one meeting, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan have met in the presence of the two countries` delegations.
President Ilham Aliyev said: “Dear Prime Minister Dear guests!
I welcome you here in Azerbaijan. Welcome!
Esteemed Mr. Prime Minister, we discussed Turkey-Azerbaijan relations in a variety of fields at our meeting in private. Our conversation was very effective and sincere. We once more discussed the accomplishments achieved so far and shared our ideas on the future.
We attach great importance to your visit. It is a very important visit. Every time, such bilateral talks and meetings support steps towards future. Turkey-Azerbaijan relations are at high level and developing. I am sure that this visit will strengthen and expand ties even more. You came to Azerbaijan with a big delegation and our friends represented in the delegation will confer with Azerbaijani counterparts and create better opportunities for cooperation in all spheres. Welcome again, I pay respect to all members of the delegation.”
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said:
“Yes, I thank you too. On my own behalf and on behalf of our delegation, I greet Esteemed President and his distinguished delegation.
Of course, we got a chance to review Turkey-Azerbaijan bilateral ties at the one-on-one meeting. We defined precisely once more that our relationship is forging ahead every day. I believe that ties will develop even more in the future. We had an opportunity to assess regional problems, in particular, energy issues between Turkey and Azerbaijan.
Of course, along with all this, any possible speculations either from the left or from the right can not damage our equity and fraternity to lead the concept of “one nation, two states” to the future. We will never tolerate such provocations. We were happy to share our ideas on this topic.
I believe that we will take these steps by accelerating joint activity between all our ministers - of course, the delegation also includes newly appointed ministers of the cabinet – and Azerbaijani counterparts”.
