President of Azerbaijan and Czech President Met in Prague
OREANDA-NEWS. May 7, 2009. The Czech President said political relations between the two countries were successfully developing. According to him, ‘this meeting creates good opportunities for exchanging views on the current state of and prospects for bilateral relations.’
He noted ongoing political and economic processes in Azerbaijan and the region were in the focus of attention in the Czech Republic. Vaclav Klaus also said his country plans to open an embassy in Azerbaijan, adding it will contribute to boosting bilateral relationship even more.
President Ilham Aliyev said relations between the two countries were successfully developing during the last years. The Azerbaijani leader told of the economic development process in his country.
The Head of State also noted that relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union were successfully expanding. He added Azerbaijan was closely participating in ensuring Europe`s energy security.
Speaking about Armenia`s aggression against Azerbaijan, President Ilham Aliyev said it poses a serious threat to peace and stability in the region.
The two Presidents expressed assurance that relations between the two countries would further develop successfully.
