Presidents of Belarus and Ukraine to Continue Chernihiv Agreements
OREANDA-NEWS. May 6, 2009. The presidents of Belarus and Ukraine will continue implementing the agreements reached in Chernihiv in January 2009. The statement was made by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko as he met with his Ukrainian counterpart Viktor Yushchenko in Gomel on May 6.
“We will discuss the questions, which exist in relations between our countries, including the continuation of the Chernihiv talks,” said the Belarusian leader.
“I am grateful for your coming into the Belarusian land, which is not foreign to you,” said the President of Belarus. “I am confident that our meeting will be successful from the point of view of state interests. Knowing your interest in arts and olden times, I hope you will enjoy your stay in Gomel”.
The presidents of Belarus and Ukraine are meeting at the Rumyantsevs and Paskeviches Palace today.
