Bulgarian Ambassador Accredited to Turkmenistan
OREANDA-NEWS. April 1, 2009. On the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Speaker of the Mejlis A. Nurberdieva received the credential letters of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to Turkmenistan Plamen Grozdanov.
Congratulating on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan the guest on appointing to the high diplomatic post the head of the national Parliament wished the diplomat success in strengthening the traditional ties of friendship and cooperation between Turkmenistan and Bulgaria.
During the conversation the plenipotentiary representative was briefed on the priorities of Turkmenistan’s home and foreign policies that had placed the country among the steadily developing countries of the world. In particular, the Speaker of Turkmen Parliament informed the guest of the ongoing large-scale national projects and programmes initiated by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to improve the quality of life and ensure steady progress of the Turkmen state and society. The diplomat was informed of the structure and lawmaking activity of Turkmen Parliament.
Showing keen interest in the changes taking place in independent Turkmenistan at the new historical stage Ambassador Plamen Grozdanov emphasized that he considered it great honour to represent his country in the state, which had gained the impressive achievements in social and economic and cultural spheres within a short period.
Exchanging views on the priorities and further development of the Turkmen-Bulgarian relations the sides called for expanding economic and humanitarian cooperation to realize the agreements achieved by the leaders of two countries during the recent official visit of President of the Republic of Bulgaria Georgi Parvanov to Turkmenistan.
In conclusion the sides expressed belief that the constructive intergovernmental dialogue would be successfully fostered in all fields including the inter-parliamentary ties.
