Mr Medvedev and Mr Shuvalov discussed Government measures to bolster the economy’s stability and provide support to companies of crucial economic importance and defence industry enterprises. One idea in particular is to make state guarantees available to such companies so that they can obtain loans.

The President said that this work must speed up, so as prevent any drop in production. Mr Medvedev also noted that the banking system is operating normally.
