They also discussed practical issues of improving the legal framework of bilateral cooperation in trade, tourism, investment, as well as cooperation in the military, technical, inter-regional, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

The impact of the global financial crisis on trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries was also discussed.

The leader of Montenegro is in Moscow to receive the 2008 His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II Prize of the International Foundation for the Unity of Orthodox Christian Nations, “For his outstanding activity in strengthening the unity of Orthodox Christian Nations, and for the consolidation and promotion of Christian values in the life of Society."
