During an exchange of views on the preparations for the April summit of the G20 in London, Mr Medvedev and Mrs Merkel noted the need for this work to take on a new urgency. Both sides also emphasised the importance of close coordination of policy approaches and specific recommendations to be discussed at the upcoming summit. In this regard, the President of Russia and the Federal Chancellor of Germany agreed to maintain close contact at various levels.

In addition, Dmitry Medvedev told Angela Merkel that Russia's proposals concerning the agenda of the forthcoming summit will soon be given to the German side.
