Prime Minister Putin and Chancellor Merkel confirmed their commitment to creating an international monitoring mechanism without delay to control Russian gas transit through Ukraine, with participation by representatives from Gazprom, Naftogaz of Ukraine, the Russian and Ukrainian Fuel and Energy Ministries, as well as representatives of European companies that consume Russian gas.
