Alexander Lukashenko Urges Administration to Change Style of Its Work
OREANDA-NEWS. January 11, 2009. Appointing first deputy and deputy head of the Presidential Administration on January 9, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko urged the Administration to change the style of its work.
“The Administration should change the style of the work. It should become a real think-tank of the President,” he said. The Administration should not fulfill the functions of other government bodies to correct someone else’s faults.
Personnel qualifications of some officials should be questioned in cases when the proposals or the documents submitted to the head of state have not been developed properly or when the candidatures nominated for high posts do not fit because of their business or moral qualities. The President has set forth certain tasks before the head of the Administration Vladimir Makei.
Alexander Lukashenko underscored that the personnel policy and ideology remain the most important areas of work.
Natalia Petkevich has been charged to take the ideological work in the country under her control. The President has reiterated his main requirement to this job: no formalistic approach should be allowed here.
He also gave an instruction to pay special attention to the mass media. “We are witnessing some kind of a set-back here, even stagnation of some mass media outlets,” the President said.
