Mr Medvedev expressed solidarity and sympathy with the Indian people following the tragic events in Mumbai, and also expressed his support for the steps the Indian leadership is taking to deal with the aftermath of the large-scale terrorist attacks. Both leaders stated their intention to intensify cooperation in the fight against terrorism.

These issues will be on the agenda during Mr Medvedev’s upcoming visit to India, and will also be discussed at a meeting of the Russian-Indian Joint Working Group on Preventing International Terrorism.

Mr Medvedev and Mr Singh also discussed other aspects of the preparations for the Russian-Indian summit in Delhi.
