OREANDA-NEWS. November 7, 2008. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov sent the telegram to Barack Hussein Obama congratulating on the victory in the US presidential election.

The telegram says, “Turkmenistan highly appreciates and attaches paramount importance to the relations with the United States of America characterized by the traditional ties based on the principles of equality and mutual respect, mutual benefit and interests.”

Emphasizing that Turkmenistan stood ready to strengthen the bilateral economic and humanitarian relations Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the significance of scientific and cultural exchange, educational co-operation.

Wishing good health and success at the important post to Barack Hussein Obama and wellbeing, peace and prosperity to the people of the United States the Turkmen leader expressed belief that the ties of friendship, mutual confidence and co-operation between Turkmenistan and the United States would be developed and enhanced for the benefit of both countries.
