OREANDA-NEWS. October 16, 2008. Dmitry Medvedev warmly congratulated Ilham Aliyev on his strong re-election as President of Azerbaijan and wished him success in the country’s highest public office.

The heads of state commented on their mutual desire to further develop multifaceted Russian-Azerbaijani cooperation on a solid foundation, the high level of cooperation their countries have achieved in political, trade, economic, cultural and educational spheres, and stressed the importance of continuing to engage in constructive and fruitful contacts at the highest level.
