OREANDA-NEWS. August 15, 2008. A telephone conversation between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and Chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee Joseph Biden took place at the American side’s initiative. The latter was interested in the situation connected with the Georgian-Ossetian conflict.

Lavrov informed Biden of the real state of affairs and our approaches to resolving the conflict and called on US legislators to assess objectively and unbiasedly the situation in the region, based on facts.
