OREANDA-NEWS. State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Grigory Karasin met on August 12 with Ukraine’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation Konstyantyn Hryshchenko.

A frank exchange of views took place on the situation in South Ossetia. There was voiced on the Russian side concern over the one-sided and biased position of Kyiv regarding Georgia’s aggression against South Ossetia.

Special attention was paid to the groundless claims of the Ukrainian side regarding the Russian Black Sea Fleet’s participation in the peacekeeping support operation.

Certain practical matters pertaining to bilateral relations also were discussed.
