Third Day of G8 Summit Traditionally Devoted to Urgent Issues
OREANDA-NEWS. July 9, 2008. The G8 heads of state and government made a statement on the situation in Zimbabwe.
The missiles and nuclear programmes of Iran and North Korea were also on the agenda.
G8+8 working sessions were held on the third day of the summit. The G8 heads of state and government were joined by the guest leaders of Australia, Brazil, India, Indonesia, China, South Korea, Mexico and the Republic of South Africa. The issues of energy and food security, and climate change were discussed in extended format.
The 34th G8 summit concluded with a news conference by summit president, Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda.
