PRESIDENT OF RUSSIA DMITRY MEDVEDEV: Serzh Azatovich,
It is a pleasure to welcome you once again to St Petersburg. This is our second meeting in a short time.
I would like to congratulate you once more on the start of your work in your new office. We both took up our new office not long ago, and I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to make an official visit to Russia over these coming months at a time that is convenient for you.
We will be happy to see you in Moscow. We will hold full-fledged talks and, building on our friendly ties, will continue our cooperation which is already very close today.
PRESIDENT OF ARMENIA SERZH SARKISIAN: Thank you, Dmitry Anatolyevich.
I would also like to congratulate you from all my heart on taking office as President of Russia. This is our first meeting in our new capacity and I am sure that we will succeed in further developing our relations.
Good relations with Russia are in the interests of our peoples, of the Armenian people, at least. We are therefore interested in intensifying our relations.
Thank you for the invitation. This will be a good opportunity to examine the current state of affairs and outline future prospects.
