OREANDA-NEWS. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov had a conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Celso Amorim, in Yekaterinburg on May 16, 2008.

The most topical themes on the bilateral agenda were discussed. The ministers reaffirmed the keenness of both countries on strengthening their many-sided cooperation and noted the necessity of fleshing out the strategic partnership, primarily through implementing specific high technology projects.

The sides also examined a number of international issues, stressing the importance of building on their foreign policy interaction within multilateral organizations, primarily the UN and also under the auspices of the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China).
