Continuity of Russia’s Policy Towards Belarus Will Be Preserved
OREANDA-NEWS. May 16, 2008. The continuity of Russia’s policy towards Belarus will be preserved, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus Alexander Surikov told media on May 16 when asked about the development of the Union State construction.
Citing Russia President Dmitry Medvedev, the diplomat underscored, “The continuity in politics will be preserved just like our attitudes towards further development of the Union State”.
The Ambassador remarked, Belarusian head of state Alexander Lukashenko in his Address to the Belarusian nation and the National Assembly said that an objective construction of the Union State is going on. “We believe that objectiveness will lead to the final result,” added the diplomat.
On May 16 the Russian Ambassador met with Gomel Oblast Governor Alexander Yakobson. While in the Gomel oblast Alexander Surikov is also expected to visit the Slavonic Library, the Military Glory Museum, meet with students of the F.Skorina State University of Gomel.
