OREANDA-NEWS. On April 25, a telephone conversation between Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov and Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs Radoslaw Sikorski took place at the Polish side’s initiative.

During the conversation, an exchange of views took place on progress achieved in carrying out the accords reached in the framework of the visit to the Russian Federation of Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Poland Donald Tusk in February this year, particularly as regards further streamlining of the juridical foundations for the development of bilateral ties in different fields.

A number of topical themes on the European agenda also were touched upon, including the prospects for the start of negotiations on a new basic agreement between Russia and the European Union.
