OREANDA-NEWS. On April 22, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, who took part in the work of the international conference on Iraq in Kuwait City, met with the UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla bin Zayed Al-Nahyan.

The ministers touched on topical issues surrounding the Persian Gulf situation, and stressed the urgent necessity of reinforcing stability and cooperation in this area and of solving all disputable issues by politico-diplomatic methods.

Special attention was paid to the entire range of bilateral relations, particularly in the financial sphere, both sides emphasizing the importance of building up mutually advantageous investment cooperation, on which an agreement was reached in principle during the Russian-UAE summit in September 2007.
