Armenian Opposition Tried to Disrupt Pashinyan’s Visit to Moscow
OREANDA-NEWS. Police officers detained several people when opposition supporters tried to prevent Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan from leaving for negotiations in Moscow on Monday morning. This was reported by the news agency Interfax.
Several dozen oppositionists blocked the road to the Yerevan airport early in the morning, trying to prevent the passage of the prime minister. Officers of the police and National Security Service used force to stop the anti-government protest action.
It is expected that a meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Pashinyan will take place in Moscow on Monday with the mediation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. At the talks, which will be held on Putin's initiative, it is planned to consider the implementation of the statement of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia on Nagorno-Karabakh of November 9. Further steps to resolve the existing problems in the region should be discussed.
