OREANDA-NEWS. The Armenian National Assembly appealed to the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) with a demand to deprive Afghanistan of the observer status.

This is stated on the website of the national parliament. These demands are connected with the statements of Afghanistan, “contributing to the Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression,” the message says.

On September 28, the Foreign Ministry of Afghanistan published a statement in which it demanded from Armenia “to end the occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh” and supported the actions of the residents and the government of Azerbaijan.

CSTO members are Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan. Afghanistan received the status of an observer state at the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly in April 2013. Another observer in the organization is Serbia.
