OREANDA-NEWS. Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas declared that people of his country will not accept the so called ‘deal of the century’ proposed by US President Donald Trump to resolve the Arab-Israeli conflict.

“Jerusalem is not for sale,” the politician said. Abbas called American plan for the settlement a conspiracy that will not work and will “go to the trashes of history.”

The leader of the fundamentalist Palestinian movement Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, supported Abbas. He believes that the goal of the ‘deal of the century’ is eliminating the Palestinian national project. In a telephone conversation with Palestinian President he noted that the residents of the country should oppose the American scheme. Abbas gave a high praise to the opinion of Haniyeh, stressing that the rejection of the project is based on the national unity in Palestine.
