OREANDA-NEWS According to journalists, several hundred people are participating in the protest action. They demand the CEC to increase the number of polling stations abroad in early parliamentary elections scheduled for July 11. The activists blocked traffic on Vasile Alexandri Street, on which the building of the Central Election Commission stands.
Earlier, the party's representative Sergei Litvinenko said that an appeal was submitted to the Chisinau Court of Appeal demanding to cancel the “illegal” decision of the CEC of Moldova not to increase the number of sites abroad.
Earlier, the CEC of Moldova last week made a decision during early parliamentary elections to open 139 polling stations abroad, just like during the presidential elections in 2020. At the same time, the members of the CEC were called upon to increase this figure to 162, since last year there were long queues at polling stations abroad. The decision of the CEC was criticized by the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu.
