OREANDA-NEWS. A head of the Chechen Republic (Russia), Ramzan Kadyrov, announced that he had imposed sanctions against US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. Earlier, Washington imposed restrictions against Kadyrov and some members of his family.

“I invited Comrade Pompeo, Mr. Pompeo to visit me. Now, in front of everyone, I say that I have no right to do this… That’s all, I cancel the invitation and announce that he will be included in all the sanctions that we have in the republic, up to the blocking of all his accounts,” the head of Chechnya said at a meeting with participation of members of the regional government. The politician noted that he do not understand why his wife and daughters were included in the US blacklists.

Kadyrov also said that he had “reliable information” from the Security Service of Ukraine that Pompeo ordered the assassination of George Floyd so that US President Donald Trump would lose the election.

On July 20, Pompeo announced that Kadyrov was included in the sanctions lists. According to the Secretary of State, this is due to the violation of human rights in Chechnya.
