Polish Politician Responded to the Publication of Russian Documents on the Liberation of Warsaw in 1945
OREANDA-NEWS. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Pavel Jablonski stated that the publication of declassified documents by the Ministry of Defense of Russia on the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Warsaw is “an attempt to distort history.”
According to published materials, the command of the Red Army tried to support the Warsaw Uprising by supplying the rebels with food, weapons, as well as making artillery attacks on Nazi troops.
“On January 17, 1945, the Red Army entered Warsaw, destroyed after the Warsaw Uprising. The Red Army stood and watched from the other side of the Vistula how Warsaw was destroyed. This was not liberation, it was the bringing of a new communist captivity, and we must remember this,” Jablonsky said, commenting publication.
