OREANDA-NEWS. Former Deputy Head of the Main Directorate for Combating Economic Crimes of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Alexey Novoseltsev was killed in New Moscow. The crime has not yet been solved, the version of murder for the purpose of robbery prevails, writes Russian media «Moskovsky Komsomolets».

On October 23, a 69-year-old man came to visit his daughter, who lives on a nearby street. After that, he went to his station and then no one could reach him for a long time. On the morning of October 25, the daughter decided to visit her father and found his body with stab wounds in the bath. A cell phone disappeared from the scene of the murder, order was not violated in the house itself, and Novoseltsev did not warn his relatives that someone should come or come to him. A criminal case has been opened on this fact under part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder).

Andrey Novoseltsev was considered one of the best specialists in economic crimes. In particular, he headed the headquarters for the investigation of the contract murder of the governor of the Magadan region, Valentin Tsvetkov, and after his resignation he was secretly responsible for the security service of the ROC.
