OREANDA-NEWS. According to the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, bloodshed in Nagorno-Karabakh could have been avoided if the previously proposed formulas for resolving the conflict, which were also proposed by Russia, had been implemented.

Peskov, in an interview on the YouTube channel RT Russia, noted that Baku, with the support of Turkey, declared that it considers military methods possible to solve the Karabakh problem and launched a military operation, guided by this consideration.

The presidential press secretary said that this military operation was preceded by many years of attempts by the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk group, and primarily to Russia, to propose some formulas for a settlement. He emphasizes that the formulas for resolving the situation existed, they are well known to the participants in the international negotiation process, but, unfortunately, they did not work.

Peskov is sure that if these formulas had been implemented even two years ago, then, probably, this bloody war would not have happened, and the death of innocent people would have been avoided.

At the same time, he did not say what formulas for a peaceful settlement are meant, since he believes that there is no longer a need for this.
