OREANDA-NEWS. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the United States could stop helping Ukraine if they wanted to establish peace in Europe. The Kremlin spokesman announced this during a briefing.
When asked what could stop the Americans from heating up the situation in Ukraine by supplying weapons to Kiev, Peskov replied that it could be "the desire to contribute to the establishment of stability."
“And encouraging Ukraine to fulfill the conditions that were very clearly formulated by the Russian Federation,” added the press secretary of the Russian head of state.
US President Joseph Biden on Wednesday, April 13, discussed by phone with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky Washington's support for Kyiv. Their conversation lasted about an hour, the press service of the White House informed.
Later, the White House press service revealed the details of the conversation. In particular, Biden informed Zelensky about Washington's decision to provide Kiev with another $800 million in military assistance, including helicopters, armored personnel carriers and artillery.
It is specified that the “new assets” that the United States will supply to Ukraine include “artillery systems, artillery shells and armored personnel carriers.” “In addition, I approved the transfer of additional helicopters,” Biden said.
The United States expects new military aid to Ukraine to begin immediately, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said in turn.
He also said that a number of other NATO countries soon intend to announce the shipment of tanks to Ukraine.
The Pentagon also specified that the US assistance package will include 11 helicopters, 200 armored personnel carriers, 18 howitzers, 300 Switchblade kamikaze drones and 500 Javelin anti-tank missiles.
