OREANDA-NEWS  Russia does not interrupt diplomatic relations even with unfriendly countries, this is the value of diplomacy, which gives relations a chance, said Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation.

"We are not interrupting our diplomatic relations, and this is probably the value of diplomacy. The President has just repeated that Russia remains open to all contacts, for negotiations, even on the most difficult issues," Peskov said in response to a question about the presence in the Kremlin of ambassadors from countries unfriendly to the Russian Federation at the credentials ceremony.

Peskov recalled that Russia was not the initiator of curtailing relations with some countries "almost to zero."
"But diplomatic channels remain open. And this, in fact, is the chance that we always have at hand," the Kremlin representative added.

Putin received credentials from 28 newly arrived ambassadors in the Kremlin on Tuesday, including a number of representatives of unfriendly countries. The ceremony was traditionally held in the Alexander Hall of the Moscow Kremlin.
