OREANDA-NEWS. Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov spoke about the possible expansion of Vladimir Putin's decree on counter-sanctions by adding new acts to it, writes TASS. Earlier, the Russian leader approved a document according to which the Russian Federation introduces counter-sanctions against "unfriendly states" and legal entities. By decree, the government must determine a list of individuals who will be subject to restrictions within 10 days.
"The text of the decree does not mention this, but, apparently, this will be regulated by some additional acts. I can’t say for sure, because the text of the decree does not mention this. The decree is subject to unconditional execution,” Peskov said.
Earlier, the Wall Street Journal reported the details of the sixth package of EU anti-Russian sanctions. They assume the refusal to purchase Russian oil within six months, and the cessation of imports of petroleum products by the end of the year. It is assumed that Slovakia and Hungary will receive 20 months to refuse to import Russian oil. Two more countries claim the same benefits - the Czech Republic and Bulgaria. The approval of sanctions requires the consent of all EU member states. Representatives of the countries of the union plan to discuss the sixth package of sanctions on Wednesday, May 4, and may make a decision this week.
