OREANDA-NEWS. In 2024-2025 the Russian government will have to reform the pension system again. This opinion was voiced by economist Nikita Maslennikov.
"Even if rumors about increasing old-age pensions by 2023 to 19 283 rubles, and the average nominal wage to 57 000 rubles will be implemented, it will give a replacement ratio of 30%. As for the growth of the pensioners' welfare, we will be stomped on the spot all these years. Resetting the pension system is inevitable," Maslennikov said.
He specified that even the economic recovery plan has been calculated only until 2021. "It is not very clear how the government will solve the problem of creating a new economic model in general. There can be no doubt that it will have to be solved," he concluded.
Earlier, Dmitry Alexandrov, an expert on non-governmental pension funds (NPF), stated that in a few years the pension system in Russia will face new problems. He believes that in 2024-2025, the government will have to reform the pension savings system, as in another 10 years it will be impossible to provide payments to all pensioners.
Now the Russians, who participate in corporate pension programs or have concluded agreements with the Non-Governmental Pension Fund, will be able to start receiving payments five years earlier. Women will be able to receive payments from the age of 55, and men from the age of 60.
