OREANDA-NEWS  Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev instructed to conduct daily monitoring of the food market, and also instructed departments to take comprehensive measures within two weeks to maintain a stable situation in this market, the office of the Deputy Prime Minister reported.

Patrushev held a meeting on prices in the food market with the participation of interested federal executive authorities and the Bank of Russia.

"Following the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister instructed to monitor the food market on a daily basis, and the interested departments to take comprehensive measures within two weeks to maintain a stable situation in the food market," the Deputy Prime Minister's office said.

"The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the mass harvest is coming to an end and, in general, we can provide all the necessary food products to the citizens of the Russian Federation. The indicators of animal husbandry, food and processing industry are stable," the staff noted.

Patrushev recalled that measures to prevent fluctuations in food prices had been repeatedly discussed earlier. "In September, when negative trends were already observed in a number of positions, an agreement was reached on the implementation of the necessary steps," the message says.

The Deputy Prime Minister's office clarified that the meeting participants discussed specific proposals for operational actions to be taken, as well as long-term tools to increase production of various types of products in order to ensure a stable price situation in the food market.

"One of the most important tasks facing manufacturers is to ensure the necessary level of production in conditions of a high key rate," the message emphasizes.
