OREANDA-NEWS. France leads among foreign employers in Russia. This was stated in an interview with the Russian media by the Minister of Economy and Finance of France Bruno Le Mer, summing up the preliminary results of the outgoing year.

"French enterprises are leaders among foreign employers in Russia, providing 160 thousand jobs", he said. "Export deliveries from France to Russia amounted to € 4.1 billion, and from Russia to France - € 6.7 billion, according to the first three quarters", added Le Mer.

The Minister noted that the meeting of the bilateral Council on Economic, Financial, Industrial and Trade Cooperation (CEFIC), opening in Moscow on Tuesday, provides an opportunity to exchange views on the status of business contacts. He spoke out in order to give a new impetus to the development of ties. “We strive to expand cooperation, to go beyond the historical framework in which important contacts already exist”, he said. The Minister recalled that fruitful cooperation has already developed in the energy sector, the development of transport, and the aerospace industry.
