Nuclear Repository will be Opened in Moscow
OREANDA-NEWS. The level of radiation at the Moscow Polymetallic Plant (MWP), next to which the Southeast Chorda will pass according to the plan, corresponds to the natural background in the capital, the press service of the fuel company Rosatom TVEL, which includes the enterprise, reported.
Employees of the Russian branch of Greenpeace and members of the public took samples of the soil from the Moscow Polymetallic Plant (part of the Rosatom structure) near the Moskvorechye railway platform, where it is planned to build a section of the Southeast Chord. In total, four samples were taken that can be transferred to other laboratories, explained “Kommersant” in Greenpeace.
On July 9, The Village published a material in which it is stated that the chord will pass "right next to the polymetallic plant's burial ground [owned by Rosatom], where radioactive waste of uranium and thorium ores is buried." According to the newspaper, radiation in the place of the repository exceeds the norm by 300 times.
