OREANDA-NEWS Russia intends to lift the ban on gasoline exports ahead of schedule in the near future, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters.

"Yes, there will be (an early lifting of the ban on the export of gasoline - IF). The documents are being prepared now," he said.

Answering the question about the possible date of lifting the ban, the Deputy Prime Minister noted: "It doesn't matter from December 1 or not (the measure will be canceled), documents are being prepared now."

Earlier, Novak instructed the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation to analyze the possibility of early lifting of the ban on gasoline exports. The head of the department, Sergei Tsivilev, later said that the Ministry of Energy had sent proposals to the government to end the embargo. "We will lift export restrictions now, because everything is stable with prices, the market situation is stable, so we can lift restrictions - they were introduced to stabilize prices in the domestic market," he said.

Interfax sources said that the agency had proposed lifting the ban on the export of all types of gasoline from next month, but only for its producers. According to one of the agency's interlocutors, at the same time, for all other exporters, the ban is proposed to be extended for another two winter months. The Ministry of Energy does not comment on this information.

News about the government's plans to lift restrictions caused an increase in gasoline prices on the stock exchange.

In this regard, public organizations uniting representatives of retail, traders and brokers sent Novak a letter asking him to postpone the decision on lifting the ban on gasoline exports until the domestic market is fully saturated and the volume of exchange sales increases. The appeal, according to Interfax sources, led to an additional analysis of the situation by the departments.
